Q: How many members does the Van VFD have?
A: At this time we have 34 members on the roster


Q: How many runs do you make a year?
A: On average, between 325-375 runs each year


Q: What type of training is required of volunter firefighters?
A: The State of Texas has no training requirements for volunteer firefighters. Most departments have a minimum level that their people must be trained to in order to perform certan activities. Van VFD adopted a policy that all members must have at a minimum their SFFMA Basic certification no later than August 8, 2008


Q: How often do you meet?
A: The Fire Department holds its regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7 PM


Q: What groups are you a member of?
A: Our department is a member of the State Firemen's and FIre Marshal's Asociation as well as the Van Zandt County Fire Chief's and Firefighter's Association
